You reach the start of the trail via Provincial Route N3, about 20 minutes from the city. The starting point is the parking area at Laguna Esmeralda, where we quickly enter a landscape of forests and peat bogs.
We walk through beaver dams until we reach an elevated peat bog. From there, we follow the Emerald River to its source, with a final ascent leading us to our ultimate destination: Laguna Esmeralda.
In winter, if conditions allow, we enjoy lunch while admiring the completely frozen lagoon. In summer, we can enjoy the beautiful color that gives the lagoon its name.
The return is made via the same trail, and at the end of the hike, we take transportation back to the hotels.
